Das äußerst robuste Convertible Notebook zeichnet sich durch ein geringes Gewicht von 2,2 kg, perfekte Sonnenlichtlesbarkeit und ein 10,4-Zoll-XGA- oder 12,1-Zoll-WXGA-Display aus. Das Display lässt sich um 180 Grad drehen und anschließend mit dem Bildschirm nach oben auf die Tastatur klappen. Dann kann die Bedienung des Convertible Notebooks mit Hilfe eines digitalen Stifts erfolgen. Optional ist das 10,4" Display mit einer 1200 Nits (cd/m⊃2;) hellen LED-Hintergrundbeleuchtung verfügbar.
Das full-ruggedized Convertible Notebook GETAC V100 besitzt ein lüfterloses 284 mm x 221 mm x 48 mm großes wasser- und staubdichtes Gehäuse aus Magnesium-Legierung. Dieses entspricht den wichtigsten nationalen und internationalen Standards und Robustheitsnormen wie IP54, MIL STD 810 F, CE/FCC, 461 E, und sogar einer ATEX-Zulassung. Als CPU kommt ein 1,2 GHz schneller Intel Core 2 Duo U7600Prozessor (Merom) in Ultra-Low-Voltage-Version mit 533-MHz-FSB und 2MB L2-Cache zum Einsatz. Das Notebook basiert auf dem Intel-945GMS-Chipsatz und ist mit 2 MByte großem L2-Cache ausgestattet. Der Arbeitsspeicher beträgt standardmäßig 512 MByte, lässt sich jedoch auf 4 GByte erweitern. Ferner ist das Convertible Notebook mit zwei USB-2.0-Ports, RJ-45-, RJ-11-, RS232 oder RS422, Bluetooth und einem VGA-Anschluss für einen externen VGA-Monitor bestückt (optional 2. RS232 oder RS422 Schnittstelle statt VGA). Hinzu kommen Steckplätze für zwei Typ-II- oder eine Typ-III-PC-Card, ein SD-Card-Leser und ein optionaler Smart-Card-Leser. Für die Grafik nutzt das rugged V100 Convertible Notebook den im i945GMS-Chipsatz integrierten VGA-Controller, der bis zu 128 MByte des Hauptspeichers adressieren kann.
Weitere technische Merkmale des Convertibles sind ein Kopfhöreranschluss, ein Mikrofoneingang und eine drehbare wasserdichte 1,3-Megapixel-CMOS-Kamera. Zur flexiblen Kommunikation sind ein 56K-Modem, Ethernet-10/100/1000-Base-T-Port und Intel-PRO/Wireless-802.11-a/b/g-Anschluss integriert. Optional sind neueste Wireless-Technologien wie 3G (EVDO oder HSDPA/HSUPA) und GPS im Convertible Notebook GETAC V100 integriert erhältlich. Als Massenspeicher dient eine stoßfest und vibrationssicher gelagerte auswechselbare SATA-Festplatte mit bis zu 250 GByte Speicherkapazität, optional SSD.
